Something Cute 'n' Clever

Heya, I'm Kristina. :) Adventure-Seeker. Photographer. Book Worm. I left my heart in Ireland.

Today my parents asked how I felt about homosexuality.

I told them.

I believe that each and everyone of us were created by a loving God and that we were created in His image. I told them that God did not create any mistakes.

Yes, we all sin. Is homosexuality a sin? I don’t think so. God told us to love. He did not say “Thou shalt only loveth these select few people. If thou dost loveth another, thou shalt be a horrible person-eth. ” No. He told us to love every one. So why is homosexuality perceived as a sin?

Many people quote Leviticus

18:22 Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable.

20:13 If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.

… but they neglect other portions of the book…

19:19 Keep my decrees.
Do not mate different kinds of animals.
Do not plant your field with two kinds of seed.
Do not wear clothing woven of two kinds of material.

What are your clothes made of? Mine tend to be of the cotton with polyester variety. How many different cross-breeds are we up to now? How many people plant more than one thing in a field? Why is it that we choose to follow one portion, but then turn around and claim a different part as being ‘old fashioned’ or based on the culture.

Well. In that same light, can we not also look at the viewpoint that ‘homosexuality is a sin’ as being ‘old fashioned’ or part of that very same culture as well?
